4 Tips For Change Management

There are lots of things you need to be on top of when it comes to change management, here are four tips you might not always have on your list.

Often we have a proven model for change management. For example The 8 steps from Kotter. There could be others as well. Today I'd like to give you 4 tips in addition to you favorite model.

In change management communicate, even if there is nothing new to say. Keep everyone updated at all times.

The 4 tips:

  1. Communicate to the team at least once a week. Even if there is nothing new. Then say: "We are on track and we have no news this week"

  2. Find out where the people are regarding the emotional change curve. Se another of my blogposts. Are they frustrated? Depressed? Full of energy?

  3. As far as your peoples motivation, meet them where they are. What motivational patterns do they have? Speak to them in their pattern. See blogpost about patterns. For example: Do they need a step-by-step plan or do they want options? Do they need goals to strive towards or do they need to know you are ironing out problems? Do they need more feedback than usual or do they set their own standard on their work? Etc

  4. Work with the groups development at the same time. Always work with group development. You will get more efficiency and productivity, work satisfaction and be a more attractive employer.

Good luck!
